“After my singing talent was discovered, I unexpectedly burst into the forefront of Hungarian and foreign opera. I did not move towards my goals step by step – with a serious professional background, formal foundations, repertoire knowledge – but suddenly I found myself at the finish line!
I was discovered, but what this meant, what I could do with it, how much responsibility and weight it was, I also had to discover myself and my possibilities, and I even had to establish my knowledge – a little later, and thanks to my luck, not too late... Some mentors helped, but I was mainly able to rely on myself, I put all the theory and practice that I had discovered, mastered, invented, and applied to my person into an individual system of knowledge and experience. I am preparing to pass on this specialized and ever-valid knowledge – in the framework of a new, innovative postgraduate master’s degree program that takes into account the future of vocal performance.”
It would be difficult, perhaps impossible, to list the recognitions and outstanding roles of Erika Miklósa, a coloratura soprano opera singer, in her career as a performing artist that has been ongoing since 1991, to which a series of awards and recognitions are attached: recipient of the Order of Saint Stephen, winner of the Kossuth and Liszt Ferenc Awards, perpetual member of the Society of the Immortals, winner of the Prima Primissima Prize, winner of the Ernő Dohnányi Prize, honorary citizen of Budapest and Velence, Ambassador of Lake Tisza and the European Capital of Culture of Veszprém, owner of the Fair Play Award…
In connection with her talent development activities, she is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the MOL – New Europe Foundation, Founder of the KvintEssence Master School Foundation, jury member of the Virtuosos, winning mentor of “The Voice”, host of several television cultural and educational programs.
